Ballabio

The country is located in a green saddle between the Southern Grigna and Mount Two Hands. The town has two centers: Ballabio Superiore Ballabio Inferiore and that, until 1927, were autonomous.

In the medieval period, the village was fortified and placed in defense and fire the Balisio Gola and Valsassina. Ballabio, for its natural beauty and the many possibilities of excursions and ascents, it is now a popular place to stay. About 9 km from the village are the Resinelli Plans, beautiful plateau at the foot of the Grignetta, equipped for winter sports. From here you can reach the Sem shelters, Carlo Porta and Rosalba. On the slopes of Mount Coltignone it was created the Valentino Park, a large protected area for the rich fauna and many scenic spots.

From Ballabio also reach the peaks of Monte Due Mani, the Piani d'Erna and Resegone. An artisan activity in the area is the production of dairy products.
