Colonno

Between Argegno and Punta Balbianello, perched in the lake on the slopes of Mount ridge, it is Colonno, one of the most characteristic and picturesque villages of Lario.
In the Middle Ages the village, inhabited by fishermen and farmers, was part of the Island Comacina Pieve and followed its fate in the ten-year war between Como and Milan.

This area is especially known for its calm waters that are generally smooth as oil, hence it follows the local denomination -Zoca de l'Oil-, and its cultivation of -erbe odorose- that the peddlers sold together fish and fresh dairy turning the province with the basket on his back. Currently the country's economy is based on trade and tourism.

The town is crossed by the deep bed of the Valley of Sala creek, which locals call -Pessetta-, on it stands a house in -ponte- which preserves the memory of the flooding occurred in 1905.
In one of the many squares in the country, near the lake, there is a building, the seventeenth-century You will probably, that has preserved, even on subsequent tampering, some strong characters distinction and which locals call -Pretura-.
